MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

ATP Monte Carlo – Wednesday, April 9, 2025 final results

(TennisTV)

You can’t really go wrong on the Wednesday of a tournament when you have Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic back to back on the scenic Rainier III centre court.

For Alcaraz, though, there were certain questions.

For Djokovic, who reports had still dealing with that stye in his right eye that affected him on the final weekend in Miami, it was another opportunity to pop a Masters 1000 gone down the drain

Djokovic has “only” won Monte Carlo twice – in 2013 and 2015, ancient history as his career coincided with Rafael Nadal winning it … constantly. His finals appearances are even older: 2009 and 2012. He has played it nearly every year – this is his 18th – and only lost to Nadal three times there. So it’s complicated.

Alcaraz has only played it once before – back in 2022, when he lost his opener to Sebastian Korda.

(Monte Carlo is six hours ahead of EDT).
