Week two of the grass season had BIanca Andreescu getting another wild card – this time into the WTA 500 in Berlin.
Gabriel Diallo squeezed into the 500 at Queen’s Club, which worked out well since he was busy winning in ‘s-Hertogenbosch and thus wasn’t available to play qualifying.
And Félix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov were both in Halle – and teaming up for doubles, as well.
Plus everyone else around the planet.
Notable: the Cana-Chilean Alejandro Tabiilo has turned the page on the entire grass season because of an abdominals injury – and won’t defend his title in Mallorca.
Big results this week are a doubles final for Taha Baadi (now representing Morocco) in Casablanca, and Scarlett Nicholson in Randho, Santa Fe.

Thanks for the reply. Hope he heals up well. I’ve enjoyed following his success in the first half of the year on the challenger circuit
Is Vicky Mboko playing Wimbledon? I haven’t seen her listed for any of the warm-up tournaments, so far, & June 30 is fast approaching. Tks.
Qualifying.
But she’s not playing any of the warm-up events?
She’s already played more than 50 matches this year. Not sure anyone wants her to break.
Her entry ranking wasn’t going to get her into most if not all of the WTA-level tournaments, as most of the players ranked ahead of her want in.
I mean, Ons Jabeur and Maria Sakkari and Anna Kalinskaya were in the qualifying this week.
what about Liam Draxl; he injured his ankle in his last tourney; do you know how long he is out for? will he be able to play Wimbly qualies?
No clue. Haven’t spoken to him since Roland Garros.
He had other issues before the ankle thing. He’s a bit banged up. Shoulder, especially.
It’s almost $28,000 CAD to lose in the first round of qualifying, so I imagine he will do his best to make it, even if on one leg. We all would.
