It’s the second round of Wimbledon, the bottom half is playing – and none of the top six seeds are in action.
That’s what happens when a lot of first-round upsets happen.
But Canada had Victoria Mboko, who came in as a lucky loser on about three hours’ notice Tuesday and upset No. 25 seed Magdalena Frech. She looked gassed when, after serving for the first set against Hailey Baptiste, she went out in two.
No. 8 seed Iga Swiatek and No. 11 seed Elena Rybakina weren’t exactly chopped liver. And both got through.
