FLUSHING MEADOWS, New York – Leylah Fernandez continues to have pretty good draw luck as, after getting qualifier (and countrywoman) Rebecca Marino in the first round, she draws Elsa Jacquemot in the second round on Wednesday.
Jacquemot is a fairly recent add to the top 100 and currently sits at a career high No. 91. Not too bad. Still, it was a battle.
Elsewhere, Sabalenka, Pegula, Andreeva and Rybakina were on the sked as the tournament goes to a “regular” alternating draw-half schedule.
