Even with the meltdown of the field in Dubai, three of the top four seeds made the final four. The only exception was Elena Rybakina, who retired in her third-round match.
Anisimova v Pegula is a rematch of the Australian Open quarterfinal, won in straight sets by Pegula as she has in three of her four wins (in four tries) against Anisimova.
Gauff and Svitolina also met in the Australian Open quarterfinals; and Gauff got just three games. They’re 2-2 overall. This time, it was dramatic.
Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski was looking for a spot in the doubles final, first up. And got it.
(Dubai is 9 hours ahead of ET).
