MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

WTA Tour – Friday, Sept. 22, 2023 final results

The first WTA singles final in China in four years will have good Chinese content, as Wang Xiyu will take on No. 1 seed Magda Linette in Guangzhou Saturday.

In Guadalajara, one semi went according to plan with No. 2 taking on No. 3. But the match itself certainly didn’t go according to play for Caroline Garcia.

The other one was rather unexpected – but all-American – as unseeded Sofia Kenin took on unseeded Caroline Dolehide.

And US Open champions – and Canadians – Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe looked for a finals spot – and got it.

(Guangzhou is 12 hours ahead of ET; Guadalajara is two hours behind).
