MELBOURNE – Tommy Haas, 38 and Kei Nishikori, 27, hit the practice court together at the Australian Open Friday.
Interestingly (but not surprisingly), Nishikori coach Michael Chang has a better head-to-head with Haas than his pupil does.
Haas is 1-0 against Nishikori, beating him in straight sets at Indian Wells in 2014.
Chang is 2-0 against Haas – beating him in San Jose in 1998 (Nishikori was about a year and a half old), and again in the first round of Cincinnati in 2002, when Haas was ranked No. 3 in the world and Chang, No. 111.
