When Conchita Martinez was fired from her job as Davis/ Fed Cup coach last week, some members of the Spanish federation referred to its players committee as having had big input into the decision.
But Martinez, who’s going down swinging, isn’t buying it.
She says she has talked to world No. 1 Garbiñe Muguruza (whom she coached to a Wimbledon title in July), Carla Suárez Navarro and Lara Arruabarrena, among others, and says the federation did not consider their opinions.
Someone’s not telling the truth. No doubt this story stays live for awhile.
