Pakistan’s Davis Cup team, led by veteran Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi (far left), raised white cards Friday in support of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace.
The day is designated by the UN, which calls sport “a universal language can be a powerful tool to promote peace, tolerance and understanding by bringing people together across boundaries, cultures and religions.”
Around the world, athletes are raising their white cards in support of the movement.
It particularly hits home with Pakistan, which didn’t host a Davis Cup tie for more than a decade, because of security concern.
