Barbora Krejcikova and Garbiñe Muguruza found themselves in a must-win situation, at risk of elimination after losing their first pool matches. And Muguruza, with an assist from the Guadalajara crowd, pulled it out.

In the meantime, Alison Riske wins a highly-welcome title in Linz, to close out a season in which she dealt with plantar fasciitis that took forever to resolve to the point where she could complete at her usual level.
