No. 1 Hamburg seed Carlos Alcaraz has only gotten better and better with each match on the clay, notably with his 6-0, 6-2 destruction of No. 7 seed Karen Khachanov in the semis on Friday.

Saturday, he faced lefty Alex Molcan, who has given a number of very good players trouble in an emergent 2022 season. Alcaraz got through, but it wasn’t routine.
