FLUSHING MEADOWS, NY – Victoria Mboko, who just turned 16, is the only Canadian left in singles of any kind.
She had a Swiss player, No. 4 seed Celine Naef, in the quarterfinals Thursday. And she eked through, 7-5 in the third set.
There were plenty of doubles semifinals, and two Canadian juniors who got through to the doubles quarterfinals.
