Félix Auger-Aliassime is back in action for the first time since the Australian Open.
And it’s a big one for him – it’s the first title defence of his career, as he returns to the scene of his first career ATP Tour title in Rotterdam.
He’s the No. 3 seed, but it’s no picnic as a draw.
Meanwhile, Denis Shapovalov also is a No. 3 seed. But he gets a first-round bye because he’s at a lower-level tournament, an ATP 250 in Delray Beach, Fla.
In the Middle East, Leylah Fernandez and Rebecca Marino (who both got through qualifying this past week in Abu Dhabi), are in qualifying again in Doha. But this time, they have to win three matches.
Bianca Andreescu, who squeezed into the main draw with her protected ranking of No. 22 after Ons Jabeur pulled out, also withdrew. She has struggled with a shoulder issue in her last two events.)

Where’s Gabriela Dabrowski? Haven’t seen her in any draws for a few weeks now. I hope she’s not injured.
She’ll be back at Indian Wells.
Thanks for the info Stephanie!
What happened to the Pospisil that returned from back surgery, & earned Comeback Player of the Year? He seems to be losing much more than he should. I realize you may not have an answer, but needed to vent.
These are human beings. They don’t respond on command.
He’s frustrated and a bit burned out.
Hi Steph
In the Qatar tourney, the draw I see shows the Qualies have a 3rd round. I couldn’t find one on the ‘official website’. Is the one on LiveScoreHunter wrong?
I don’t ever look at “livescorehunter”, so I can’t tell you.
And yes – there’s a third and final round.
It shows up on the website.
