Long days in both Charleston and Bogotá because of rain, which resulted in several stoppages in Bogotá and one long delay in Charleston before Ons Jabeur was able to come back and nail down a win.
Jessica Pegula and Belinda Bencic played far later into a cold evening than they ideally would have liked. And in the end, they didn’t finish and wrapped up today with Bencic winning five straight points to win the second set – and the match.
She was denied a title defence, though, by Jabeur.
(Charleston is on EDT; Bogota is one hour behind)
