ROME – Andrey Rublev, a rock star around these parts, had a lot of support out on a packed Pietrangeli. And between that and his tennis, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina didn’t stand much of a chance.

But at least he got through. There were three matches on court when the rain came, and came. And it took awhile for play to be stopped everywhere (ask Frances Tiafoe about that).

In the end, they had to cancel. And so those three matches much be completed and the winners much play again in the fourth-round clashes Tuesday.

And then, of course, there was the Alcaraz shocker.
