ROLAND GARROS – The singles draws have been whittled down now, and the eight singles matches presented Sunday – combined four men and four women – will only drop from here.

Sunday will feature the first women’s match in “Le Night Session” so far – No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka against unseeded (but former Grand Slam champion) Sloane Stephens. It was good – not great, but darn good. And the crowd enjoyed it.

During the day, Alcaraz v Musetti was … pretty quick.

And over on Suzannen Lenglen, another clash between Ukraine and Russia/Belarus, this time Elina Svitolina against Daria Kasatkina as many people will – in the parlance of tennis on social media – just be there for the handshake (or lack of same). There were thumbs’ up, but no handshake, as Svitolina’s renaissance run continues.
