Can anyone derail Iga Swiatek? It seemed far less likely now that Aryna Sabalenka was eliminated by the talented Karolina Muchova, who is in her first Grand Slam final.

But there were moments on Saturday where it certainly felt possible. And there was joy for those who didn’t know Muchova to discover her beautiful game.

In the end, the champion defended her title.
