Another week with three WTA-level events on tap.

Of course, they come at the end of the season when a lot of the more high-ranked players are kind of done and dusted.

Still, they’re great opportunities for players to earn points, and for some of the parts of the world that don’t get much, if any, top-level women’s tennis to see it – notably in Tunisia.

The dynamic duo of Ons Jabeur and Venus Williams were supposedly getting a wild card into the doubles together in Monastir. This seems to have somehow faded into the mists. Which is too bad.

Because it’s an unknown quantity whether that country, which hosts lower-level Futures events on a weekly basis for the men and women, can support a WTA Tour event without its big local pride.
