The only Canadians remaining in the second week of the US Open are the Cana-Kiwis: Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe.
And that’s only in women’s doubles, even though they were part of the top two seeded teams in mixed, both exited in the first round.
There are … zero Canadians in the boys’ and girls’ singles. There were two girls in the qualifying, but both lost in straight sets in the first round of the event, which took place offsite in the Bronx.
But around the planet, there are plenty of other Canucks, with a winner’s trophy going to Ariana Arseneault and Kayla Cross in doubles in Santo Domingo, a doubles final for Bianca Fernandez in Portugal and a singles final for Liam Draxl in Romania.
