Meanwhile, No. 5 Tommy Paul and No. 6 Holger Rune were the top seeds in action in Tokyo, with Paul going out.

And the local fans were be loving it as Kei Nishikori (who defeated Marin Cilic) and Yoshihito Nishioka (who upset Félix Auger-Aliassime – and immediately went down on the court with cramp), both in action. Nishikori is through to the quarterfinals.
