Novak Djokovic was 9-0 against Taylor Fritz in his career. So he was liking this matchup.

The last five had been on hard courts. and Fritz had only taken one set.

That said, it’s been a long time since that quarterfinal meeting at the Australian Open in January. And since then, Fritz is a Grand Slam finalist. You would think he’ll do a little better.

But that form still held. And it’ll be Sinner v Djokovic in the Shanghai final.
