In only his second trip to Monte Carlo, Carlos Alcaraz takes the title and moves back to No. 2 in the rankings. So finally, 2 1/2 months after Jannik Sinner’s one tournament in 2025 kept him at the top of the race to Turin all this time, there’s a new leader.
At the other end, Stefanos Tsitsipas, who fell short in defending his Monte Carlo title, drops to as low as he’s been since 2018, when he was barely out of juniors.

Carlos Alcaraz (ESP): No. 3 ========> No. 2 (With his first Monte-Carlo title, Alcaraz gets back to No. 2 in the rankings for the first time since last fall, and bumps the slumping Alexander Zverev down to No. 3. He’s still 2000 points behind Jannik Sinner).
Alex de Minaur (AUS): No. 10 ========> No. 7 (De Minaur moves to within one one of his career high ranking after making the semifinals in Monte-Carlo)
Daniil Medvedev (RUS): No. 11 ========> No. 9 (Medvedev still doesn’t seem quite right. But he did get to the third round in Monte Carlo and moves back into the top 10).
Lorenzo Musetti (ITA): No. 16 ========> No. 11 (A career high for the 23-year-old Monte-Carlo finalist, who showed a lot of grit on the comeback trail to even get to the final day).

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (ESP): No. 42 ========> No. 30 (Davidovich Fokina had a great week, getting to the semifinals and giving Alcaraz a tussle. He puts himself in good position to be seeded at Roland Garros, which will help a lot).
Daniel Altmaier (GER): No. 84 ========> No. 68 (Altmaier has taken advantage of his opportunities, qualifying in Monte Carlo and making the third round. He has a wild card into Munich this week to keep building).
Raphael Collignon (BEL): No. 91 ========> No. 83 (Another good week and another career high for the unheralded 23-year-old Belgian, who wins the Challenger in Monza).

Kamil Majchrzak (POL): No. 102 ========> No. 91 (After a long, long road back from a doping suspension, the 29-year-old from Poland is finally back into the top 100 after beating Marin Cilic to take the Madrid Challenger title. Majchrzk had no ranking at all at the start of the 2024 season; at the start of the 2023 season he was at No. 77).
Dusan Lajovic (SRB): No. 109 ========> No. 97 (Lajovic is another who is making a push to try to avoid the Roland Garros qualifying. and he’s back into the top 100 after making it through the qualifying in Monte Carlo).

Emilio Nava (USA): No. 169 ========> No. 140 (The 23-year-old American makes a nice leap after taking the Sarasota Challenger. He’s on a 15-match winning streak, 12 matches without dropping a set and three straight Challengers – in Asuncion, Concepción and now Sarasota).
Richard Gasquet (FRA): No. 164 ========> No. 142 (Gasquet is going to wrap up his long and distinguished career in Paris. And he’s at least going in on a positive note with the ranking going in the right direction).

Liam Draxl (CAN): No. 176 ========> No. 159 (The Canadian is at another career high after making the Sarasota Challenger final. He’s in a similar event in Tallahassee this week).

Lorenzo Musetti (ITA) (No. 11)
Arthur Fils (FRA) (No. 14)
Raphaël Collignon (BEL) (No. 83)
Jesper de Jong (NED) (No. 94)
Eliot Spizzirri (USA) (No. 124)
Dalibor Svrcina (CZE) (No. 127)
Vilius Gaubas (LTU) (No. 143)
Liam Draxl (CAN) (No. 159)

Alexander Zverev (GER): No. 2 ========> No. 3 (The window of opportunity for Zverev to go for the No. 1 spot during Jannik Sinner’s three-month doping suspension is waning now. And his loss to Matteo Berrettini in the second round in Monte Carlo was just the latest early exit. He’s right back on the horse Monday in Munich).

Casper Ruud (NOR): No. 7 ========> No. 10 (Somehow Ruud has stayed in the top 10. But barely, at this point. He’s just 15 points ahead of new No. 11 Lorenzo Musetti even after dropping 550 points from a year ago in Monte Carlo, after losing in the third round).
Stefanos Tsitsipas (GRE): No. 8 ========> No. 16 (Tsitsipas’s title in Monte-Carlo a year ago feels a long time ago, doesen’t it? He went out in the quarterfinals to Musetti and drops as low as he’s been since Oct. 2018).
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (FRA): No. 30 ========> No. 34 (The tall Frenchman has been pretty quiet so far in 2025 after a breakout 2024. He lost in the first round of Monte Carlo to Jordan Thompson and put shimself just out of seeded range for Paris, although there are plenty of opportunities before that comes around).
