Nishikori, now 35, has been out off on and on the last few years and hasn’t played since retiring in the second round of the Geneva tournament, the week before Roland Garros.
Since then, it emerged that he’s had some pretty comprehensive … marital issues. That story has been a big deal in his native Japan, where he remains a superstar.
