MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

WTA Tour – Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025 final results

(Andrew Ong/USTA)

It shouldn’t be that all four semifinalists at a WTA 500 event are unseeded. But the good folks of Guadalajara (and the women’s tennis-supportive owners of the event) have gotten a raw deal the last many years, after bailing out the WTA on a lot of levels during the pandemic and the disappearance of China from the schedule.

A 500 right after the US Open, and right before the long Asian swing, was always going to have this kind of draw. And so it is.

In Sao Paulo, three of the four doubles finalists were Brazilian. So that gave them something to celebrate regardless of outcome.

(Sao Paulo is one hour ahead of EDT; Guadalajara is two hours behind)
