MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

ATP Tour – Friday, Oct. 3, 2025 final results

A lot going on on this Friday in Shanghai, including the return of Novak Djokovic for the first time since the US Open.

As well, very short turnarounds for players who went deep in the spillover 500 tournaments – Taylor Fritz, who had to travel from Tokyo to Shanghai after Tuesday night’s final, is one.

And Learner Tien, finalist in Beijing Wednesday night, had less than 48 hours to turn it around. They got a private jet to get them there. But the conditions look pretty different.

For Tien, in particular, it wass still a R128 match even though those were done and dusted Wednesday and Thursday in Shanghai. So opponent Miomir Kecmanovic had to wait for him. And then will have to turn it around and play No. 33 seed Corentin Moutet the next day.

It could have been worse; Moutet is up at the top of the draw to replace No. 1 seed Carlos Alcaraz, who withdrew after winning Tokyo.

Also: Newlywed Félix Auger-Aliassime played his first match since the wedding, and his first of the Asian swing, in doubles. Gabriel Diallo had a doubleheader (singles and doubles) on his schedule.

(Shanghai is 12 hours ahead of EDT)
