After finally getting off the schneid and posting a win in Asia (unfortunately, at countrywoman Bianca Andreescu’s expense), Victoria Mboko got right back at it Wednesday against qualifier Eva Lys of Germany

Mboko met Lys in the second round at Roland Garros, after getting through the qualifying, and beat her 6-4, 6-4. And she had an even easier time this time.

Also in action is Gabriela Dabrowski, teaming up with Sofia Kenin this week. Erin Routliffe had played earlier in the Asian swing, with Dabrowski off to attend a friend’s wedding. They’re both easing up a bit on the schedule, since they’ve already qualified for the WTA Finals.

There was rain in Tokyo, so they played the doubles indoors and the singles under the stadium roof. In Guangzhou, they didn’t have those luxuries, so it was a total washout.
