Another jam-packed indoor day in Paris – with Sinner/Wawrinka v Djokovic/Kecmanovic on tiny Court 2 likely to cause a stampede – and an unexpectedly packd house for … Kecmanovic v Etcheverry and Wolf v McDonald as people try to reserve their seats as soon as they get in the house.

(UPDATE: That didn’t happen; playing until nearly 230am yesterday, Wawrinka – and Sinner – withdrew).

As well, Basel champ Félix Auger-Aliassime had a tough one against Jan-Lennard Struff. And Basel finalist Hubert Hurkacz also had no picnic, against Sebastian Korda. Both got through.

Lots of French players, too, including Gaël Monfils.

Oh, and Caros Alcaraz. Who was one andn done, with some injuries that required his withdrawal from Basel, with but thought wouldn’t hinder his ability to compete.

(Paris is five hours ahead of EDT – at least it is until Sunday, when it goes back to six).
