MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

WTA Tour – Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025 final results

Four seeded players, and two potentially tasty semifinals in store as this fabulous one-week WTA 1000 gets down to the nitty-gritty.

Coco Gauff has played her way into form, with a friendly draw. But she now faced a player who was highly motivated to make the year-end finals

Paolini had won their last three meetings, including under the pressure at home in Rome, and on the hard courts in Cincinnati this past summer. But she couldn’t get over the line.

The other semi featured Aryna Sabalenka and Jessica Pegula, in which the head-to-head is a lopsided 8-2 in Sabalenka’s favor. But most of the matches have been competitive.

They’ve never met on less than big occasions – including in the US Open final last year and the semifinals this year.

Pegula won their first-ever meeting, and beat Sabalenka at the WTA Finals in Cancun in 2023, where the players who moaned the least (Pegula and Swiatek), did the best.

This time, she turned the tide, in a third-set tiebreak.
