New US Open TD coming in 2020

The USTA announced that David Brewer, the longtime US Open tournament director, wlll step down after this year’s edition.

Brewer (far right in the photo) joined the USTA in 1997 as the director of pro tennis, part of a long career that began with a teaching pro job at the Bollettieri academy right out of college. 

He became the US Open tournament manager in 2001, then deputy tournament director, before taking over the top job in 2012.  He was heavily involved in the massive revamping of the National Tennis Center.

Brewer will stay on as a consultant, as one does.
