Khachanov changes coaches – not countries

Next-Gen star Karen Khachanov split with Spanish coach Galo Blanco after the season.

But he didn’t leave the country – or even the city.

After several years of training at Blanco’s academy in Barcelona, Khachanov moved his offseason across town to the Real Club Tenis Barcelona.

Tennis is definitely the most international of sports. The Russian’s new coach is a Croat named Vedran Martić, and they’re working in Spain.

Martić, 50, worked with countryman Goran Ivanisevíc for four years. He also continues to work with another Croat, Petra Martić (no, he’s not her father).
