Will Andreescu play vs SUI? TBD

As the Canadian Fed Cup squad prepares to face a Swiss team led by No. 5 Belinda Bencic, we’ll find out if Bianca Andreescu will make her 2020 debut.

Andreescu leads a thin Canadian squad that includes teenager Leylah Fernandez and Genie Bouchard, currently ranked No. 267.

Will Andreescu play? As of a week ago, it was unclear.

“She hasn’t started to play points yet, so we’ll see how it goes the next two weeks,” Andreescu coach Sylvain Bruneau said. 

On Tuesday, Andreescu said this: “I think there’s still a chance. We haven’t made any decisions yet but I’m hoping I can play.”
