ROLAND GARROS – Novak Djokovic had a day off Sunday – or part of a day, after he was into press past 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning in the wake of his dramatic late night/early morning win over Lorenzo Musetti.
He got No. 23 seed Francisco Cerundolo, who was capable of giving him a tussle. And it turned out to be a five-setter, with Djokovic shaking off an early knee strain and finding a way to win.
The night match – Alexander Zverev vs Holger Rune – was between two players have their fans, as well as their … non-fans.
It went five sets. But somehow after the Djokovic match, and as it got close to 2 a.m., it didn’t have the same kind of punch.
