The near-rainouts the last two days mean that the matches that were interrupted or never started in the second round were all piled on there on Monday as they tried to catch up.

As it happens, they were also among the best matches with Rune v Berrettini, Cobolli v Wawrinka, Tiafoe, Dimitrov and Fritz all set to go – despite the bad forecast that affected things on the outside courts. In the end, four of those matches  moved indoors, and the rest cancelled.

And in all four cases for those indoor matches, the seeded player was upset.
