MORE TENNIS THAN YOU'LL EVER NEED

ATP Tour – Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025 final results

Félix Auger-Aliassime made a choice this week, to get his ranking back up on his favorite surface – indoor hard courts – and playing in Montpellier rather than Davis Cup in Montreal this coming weekend.

He has a bye in the first round, as the No. 2 seed. He faces Arthur Cazaux in the second round on Wednesday.

Auger-Aliassime defeated Cazaux in the second round – a comeback from losing the first set 6-1 – on his way to the title in Adelaide. He went to a third-set tiebreak in the second round at this same tournament in Montpellier a year ago before getting through him.

So it wasn’t going to be easy. But FAA got through in two close sets.

(Montpellier is 6 hours ahead of ET).
