ROLAND GARROS –  For the third round, against the Olympic champion, 18-year-old Canadian Victoria Mboko gets a bigger court.

A lovely court – Court Simonne-Mathieu, the greenhouse court.

And, once again, an 11 a.m. local start – which meant 5 a.m. EDT, and 2 a.m. out on the west coast. She didn’t play badly, but she was outclassed by a top-10 player.

Also worth watching – we thought: Elena Rybakina v Jelena Ostapenko. It turned out to be otherwise.

And with Elina Svitolina winning through, husband Gaël Monfils is under *orders* not to go to Munich for a big football match. Daddy Duty 🙂
