Americans Madison Keys is out, and the other three were fighting for semifinals qualification in their final round-robin matches.

Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula both have to win; but Gauff must meet Aryna Sabalenka while Jessica Pegula needs to beat the very beatable Jasmine Paolini. That appears to be the easier of the two tasks.

As for the Cana-Kiwis Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe, the defending champions, they already knew they were in a tough pool.

And to advance to the semifinals, they have to beat the solid team of Timea Babos and Luisa Stefani.
