Vaidisova’s little bro on the rise

Remember Nicole Vaidisova? She was a game away from the French Open final at age 17 and reached No. 7 at 18, before multiple injuries took her out of the game. She married and divorced fellow Czech Radek Stepanek very young, tried to come back in 2013 and finally listened to her body and retired last summer at age 27.

Long coached by stepfather Alex Kodat, Vaidisova’s success inspired her half-brother Toby Kodat. Kodat earned his first ITF junior ranking points this week. Just 14, he has a sweet one-handed backhand. Watch him here.
