It’s been two years since Novak Djokovic was the odds-on favorite to win a Grand Slam.
Not that he hasn’t won a bunch anyway. But – especially in the current climate, and with neither Roger Federer nor Rafael Nadal on hand (for the time since … 1999), it’s his to win more than ever.
Unless he trips over a drainage grate, or an injury comes up, or an opponent just has an incredible day against him over five sets, it’s hard to look past him hoisting Grand Slam trophy No. 18.
But you never know. That’s why they play.
