Ekaterina Alexandrova and Anastasia Potapova pulled out of the singles in Ningbo.
But there was Potapova in the doubles on the Wednesday schedule. Makarova (paired with Siniakova who was eliminated in singles earlier in the day), didn’t return.
It’s allowed. That said, Potapova apparently came down with food poisoning, so the extra day might put have her right.
As well, she was playing with her bestie, Sizikova, who is a doubles specialist. And so undoubtedly didn’t want to let her down. But they still went out.
